The crash happened Wednesday afternoon at McDowell Mountain and Forest roads involving a Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and a civilian car.
Rio Verde, AZ. – Six people were taken to the hospital after a civilian car collided with a Maricopa County Sheriff's Office vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Rio Verde.
The accident took place at McDowell Mountain and Forest roads.
MCSO deputies said a civilian car occupied by seven people collided with an MCSO vehicle under unclear circumstances.
Authorities said no major injuries were reported but the six passengers in the civilian vehicle were hospitalized as a precaution. The driver was not hospitalized and is suspected of drunk driving.
There were no details about how many deputies were in the MCSO car and if anyone was hurt.
Deputies closed northbound traffic at McDowell Mountain Road and southbound traffic at Forest Road as they worked the scene.
