Rider Killed in Fremont Bicycle Accident on Montrose Avenue

, California (May 21, 2022) – A young child on a was struck and killed by a vehicle on Friday afternoon in Fremont, according to the Fremont Police Department.

The incident happened on Montrose Avenue at around 3:45 p.m. on May 20.

Police said a vehicle traveling on the roadway struck a 7-year-old on a bicycle.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and attended to the bicyclist before transporting him to a hospital.

Sadly, the child died at the hospital.

The driver who collided with the bicyclist stayed at the scene.

The police are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.

  • Do not drive when impaired. Do not use your phone while driving.
