Bakersfield, CA.– An elderly man was killed in a crash that took place in Bakersfield early Tuesday morning, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened on Hageman Road near Martin Avenue at about 3:10 a.m.
CHP said a 70-year-old man from Roseburg, Oregon, was driving a Jeep pulling a trailer east on Hageman Road when he drifted into the path of oncoming traffic and collided with an oncoming big rig.
The impact sent the Jeep off the roadway and it overturned into an orchard.
The driver of the Jeep died in the crash.
The other driver, an Apple Valley resident, was unhurt.
The accident is under investigation.
