Imperial County, CA – A 71-year-old woman was killed and another 35-year-old woman and an infant were injured after a head-on collision on Forrester Road Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck happened at around 9:20 a.m. on May 12 on Forrester Road north of Keystone Road.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the 71-year-old woman was driving a black 2017 Toyota Camry northbound on Forrester Road when for unknown reasons she drove direct into the lane of travel of a southbound white 2015 Honda Accord on Forrester Road, causing head-on collision.
The Accord was driven by the 35-year-old woman along with her one year old daughter.
The 71-year-old woman died at the scene.
The 31-year-old woman was taken to desert regional medical center with major injuries to her lower body. The infant girl suffered minor injuries.
No additional details about the crash were provided.
An investigation is ongoing.
