Bakersfield, CA.- A child who was hospitalized after being hit by a vehicle in central Bakersfield on Wednesday afternoon has succumbed to his injuries, according to the authorities.
The crash took place on Bank Street and Holtby Road at around 1:45 p.m. October 16.
According to the report, an 8-year-old boy was walking across Bank Street when he was struck by a vehicle near Roosevelt Elementary.
The victim was rushed to Kern Medical, where he was pronounced deceased on Friday morning.
The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating the incident.
