Wheatland Man Killed in Sutter County Crash on Cornelius Avenue

Sutter County, Calif. – A 93-year-old man from was killed in a crash between two vehicles in Sutter County on Friday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck took place on Cornelius Avenue near Pleasant Grove Road at about 2:30 p.m.

CHP said the elderly man was driving a 2017 Toyota Prius on Cornelius Avenue when he failed to stop for a stop sign and was T-boned by a 2019 Toyota Highlander traveling south on Pleasant Grove Road.

The Wheatland man died in the accident.

The occupants of the other vehicle were not injured.

The crash caused the closure of Cornelius Avenue for hours as authorities investigated the crash.

The CHP is investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
