Aidan Rakisits Hurt in Crash on Antelope Valley (14) Freeway in Lancaster

Lancaster, California (February 16, 2022) – Authorities identified 18-year-old Aidan W. Rakisits of Rosamond as the woman injured in a deadly Lancaster crash that happened early Monday morning on the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway.
The wrong-way crash left Kolisha Mitchell-King of Inglewood dead.
The California Highway Patrol said the collision happened at around 12:04 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the freeway near Avenue H.
Officers said Mitchell-King was, for unknown reasons, driving a 2014 Hyundai southbound in the northbound No. 1 lane when she collided head-on with Rakisits' 2013 Kia heading northbound.
Mitchell-King died in the crash, and a 1-year-old girl riding in her car sustained minor injuries.
Rakisits was hospitalized with moderate injuries.
CHP Antelope Valley Area Office is investigating the collision.
