, California (August 12, 2022) – Alani Aguilar, 24, of Santa Rosa, has been identified as the woman who was killed in a collision that happened on State in Santa Rosa on Wednesday morning, according to the Sheriff-Coroner's Office.

The wreck happened at about 8 a.m. near the Dutton Avenue on-ramp.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a delivery box was traveling east on SR 12 when the driver failed to notice slow-moving traffic ahead and collided with the rear of a Nissan Versa driven by Aguilar.

The impact caused the Nissan to strike the guardrail on the right side and it overturned.

Aguilar was trapped in her car and was rescued by first responders. 

She was rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

The box truck also overturned after colliding with four other cars on the eastbound side of SR 12.

The driver of the truck was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Some other parties involved in the crash sustained minor injuries.

DUI was not suspected to have played a role in the accident. However, authorities believe that distracted-driving may have been a factor.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.

Santa Rosa, California (August 11, 2022) – A woman was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Wednesday morning in Santa Rosa, authorities said.

the deadly accident occurred at about 8:00 a.m., on Highway 12 near Dutton Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a driver failed to notice traffic was backed up on the highway, and rear-ended a Nissan Versa, causing it to overturn onto a guardrail.

The truck then crashed into four other vehicles before flipping onto its side, the officials said.

Sadly, the female driver of the Nissan was injured in the accident and was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the truck was hospitalized with minor injuries.
