64-Year-Old Alberto Verduzco Dies in Lemoore Crash on Jersey Avenue near 17th Avenue

, California (July 5, 2022) – One of the two men who died in a crash with a DUI motorist in Lemoore on Friday night has been identified as 64-year-old Alberto Verduzco, according to a local news source.

The two were exiting the Palace Casino Resort located along Jersey Avenue, west of 17th Avenue, when their 2006 Nissan Quest minivan was hit by a 2020 Toyota Corolla heading east on Jersey.

The Toyota was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed when it collided with the Nissan at about 11:45 p.m. on July 1.

Verduzco was the driver of the Nissan. He died in the collision along with his passenger, Juan Jose Lugo, 52, of Fresno.

The driver of the Toyota, Santana Yanez, 26, of Lemoore, was flown to Kaweah Health Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. 

Yanez was also arrested for DUI following the collision. The investigation is ongoing.

Lemoore, California (July 2, 2022) – Two men were killed in a suspected DUI collision in Lemoore late Friday night, the California Highway Patrol said.

The incident took place just before midnight on Jersey Avenue west of 17th Avenue.

CHP said Santana Yanez, 26, of Lemoore, was driving eastbound on Jersey Avenue at a high rate of speed when he collided with the driver's side of a Nissan that was exiting the Palace Casino Resort.

Two men in the Nissan were both killed in the collision.

Yanez was flown to Kaweah Health Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.

He was also arrested on DUI charges following the collision, authorities said.

The CHP is investigating the incident.
