The Sonoma man was driving a BMW 328i southbound on Old Adobe when he collided with a Cadillac CTS
Petaluma, CA. – 27-year-old Alejandro Moya Benitez has been identified as the man who died in a car crash early Thursday morning in Petaluma.
The fatal collision was reported around 12:38 a.m. on Old Adobe Road at Casa Grande Road, the California Highway Patrol said.
The Sonoma man was driving a BMW 328i southbound on Old Adobe when he collided with a Cadillac CTS.
The impact of the collision sent the BMW off the roadway where it crashed into a tree.
Benitez died at the accident scene, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff-Coroner's Office.
A passenger in the BMW was transported to the hospital with major injuries.
The driver of the Cadillac was not injured.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
