Police Looking for Alejandro Padilla After Hit-and-Run Crash in Taft Leaves One Person Dead

Taft, CA. – One person died, and police officers are looking for a hit-and-run suspect after a collision involving a motorcycle that happened Sunday morning in Taft.

According to the Taft Police Department, the accident was reported around 10:43 a.m. in the 1000 block of Kern Street.

Police officers and firefighters responded to the scene shortly after receiving reports of the crash.

A male adult was pronounced dead at the scene.

An initial investigation revealed that Padilla was driving a white Chevrolet Silverado, making a left turn from westbound Kern Street, when he collided head-on with a Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling eastbound on Kern.

Padilla fled the scene after the collision. He was described as 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing about 185 pounds. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
