Alex Ramos Injured in Atwater Crash on Highway 99 near Atwater Boulevard
Atwater, California (March 11, 2022) – Alex Ramos, 42, of Modesto was injured in a big rig collision near Atwater on Thursday morning, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The collision on Highway 99 just north of the Atwater Boulevard off ramp was reported at about 7:50 a.m. March 10.
CHP said two big rigs and a sedan were involved in the crash on the southbound lanes of Highway 99.

Ramos was driving a Mercedes sedan on the highway when he slowed down for traffic ahead and was rear-ended by a 2016 Freightliner pulling a flat trailer.
The Mercedes was pinned between the big rig and a 2011 Peterbilt traveling in front of them.
The lead big rig was hauling sulfuric acid, which spilled onto the highway.
Firefighters responded to the scene and extricated Ramos from the Mercedes. He was flown to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto for treatment of moderate injuries.
Drugs and alcohol were not suspected to be factors in the accident.
The CHP is investgatng the incident.
