Woman in Critical Condition After Being Hit by SUV During “No Kings Day” Protests in Riverside

Riverside, CA. – 21-year-old Alexa Carrasco was hit and critically injured by an SUV Saturday night during a “No Kings Day” demonstration parade in Riverside.

According to the Riverside Police Department, the hit-and-run collision occurred just after 9 p.m. on University Avenue.

Authorities said that during a protest in downtown Riverside, a black SUV sped toward a group of protestors and hit a woman before the driver sped away.

The victim, identified in a GoFundMe page as Carrasco, sustained critical injuries. She was taken to the hospital, where she remained in critical but stable condition.

The incident happened just after the protest had concluded and the crowd had shrunk into hundreds, down from thousands hours earlier.

RPD is asking the driver of the SUV to present themselves to authorities.
