Spokane, WA. – A man was hit and injured by a vehicle in Spokane earlier this month, according to the authorities.
The incident took place in the area of Maxwell Avenue and Washington Street.
Ali Abbas, 24, was struck and dragged several feet by a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old woman suspected of DUI.
Abbas sustained several injuries including broken bones and third-degree burns.
He was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center, then later transferred to a hospital in Seattle.
The driver who hit Abbas reportedly left the area and shortly after ran a red light, hitting a second vehicle.
The woman driving the second car was also hospitalized with critical injuries.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
