Reportedly, an eastbound Chrysler Sebring, operated by Mary Louise Nathe, 73, of Salem, attempted to turn left onto Oak Grove Road and entered the path of a westbound Ford Expedition, operated by Karen Jean Bell-Stanerson, 53, of Salem. The Ford struck the passenger side of the Chrysler.

Polk County, OR. – Amanda Rose Nathe, 41, of Salem was killed in a car accident on Highway 22 in Polk County Tuesday evening.
According to the Oregon State Police, the incident happened at around 6:17 p.m. on July 23 on State Route 22 near milepost 20.
Reportedly, an eastbound Chrysler Sebring, operated by Mary Louise Nathe, 73, of Salem, attempted to turn left onto Oak Grove Road and entered the path of a westbound Ford Expedition, operated by Karen Jean Bell-Stanerson, 53, of Salem. The Ford struck the passenger side of the Chrysler.
Rose Nathe, who was the passenger in the Chrysler, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mary Nathe suffered severe injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Bell-Stanerson was also hospitalized with minor injuries.
No more information about the wreck was provided.
An investigation is ongoing.
