Ana Hernandez Among Two Riders Killed in Chatsworth Bicycle Crash on Plummer Street
Chatsworth, California (January 6, 2021) – Ana Hernandez, 37, was one of two bicycle riders who were fatally hit by a vehicle in Chatsworth on Tuesday night, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The riders are heading west on Plummer Street at around 7:10 p.m. January 4, when they were struck by a red 2006 Toyota Tacoma driven by Nelson Rodriguez, 58.
Rodriguez reportedly fled from the scene and slammed into several vehicles and other property in the area.
Ana Hernandez Killed in Chatsworth Bicycle Accident on Plummer Street
The Toyota came to a stop after crashing into a wall in the area of Knapp Street and De Soto Avenue.
Hernandez and the other bicyclist, Matthew Zink, 58, were both pronounced deceased at the site of the collision.
Rodriguez was arrested on suspicion of murder and was taken to hospital for treatment.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
