Lopez was riding a motorcycle north on State Route 165 when he crashed into the rear of a Chevrolet Suburban
Merced County, CA. – 37-year-old Andrew Lopez, of Turlock, has been identified as the motorcyclist who died in a collision on Sunday night.
The fatal motorcycle accident happened around 9:18 p.m. on State Route 165 near River Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Lopez was riding a 2019 Harley Davidson motorcycle north on State Route 165 when he crashed into the rear of a 2011 Chevrolet Suburban.
Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Merced County Sheriff Coroner's Office.
The 23-year-old Stevinson man who was driving a Chevrolet was unhurt. He remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
