Angelita Van Roon ID'd as Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Three Vehicles on Ingraham Street in San Diego

San Diego, California (August 30, 2021) – The San Diego Medical Examiner's Bureau has identified the pedestrian who died after being hit by three vehicles early Saturday morning in the Mission Bay Park community of San Diego as Angelita Rose Van Roon, 28, of San Diego.
The deadly pedestrian accident happened at around 4:15 a.m. Saturday, August 28, in the 2500 block of Ingraham Street.
Authorities said Roon was walking westbound on Ingraham Street when she climbed over the concrete center median and tried to cross the street.
Roon was struck by a Honda Civic driven southbound on Ingraham Street by a 24-year-old man. She was then hit by two other vehicles, and her body was dragged in the street.

Roon died at the scene, despite life-saving measures performed by medical personnel.
The driver of the first vehicle stayed at the scene after the accident. The other two motorists fled from the scene.
Police are conducting an investigation into the collision.
