Antioch, CA: Head-On Collision on Highway 160 Results in Major Injuries

, California (September 16, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a major injury Antioch crash that happened Wednesday evening on Highway 160.

The California Highway Patrol said the accident was reported at around 8:16 p.m. just north of the Antioch Bridge.

Two vehicles of unknown make and model collided head-on under unclear circumstances.

Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene to help at least one person who sustained major injuries. An air ambulance was requested to airlift the victim to the hospital.

A SigAlert was issued closing Highway 160 just north of the Antioch Bridge near Sherman Island Cross Road following the accident.

Authorities are investigating to establish what transpired leading to the collision.
