Modesto police said Cooley was walking across College Avenue when he was hit by a 2005 Honda Civic

Modesto, Calif. – Anton Cooley, 44, of Modesto, was hit and killed by a vehicle in Modesto on Friday evening, according to the authorities.
The collision took place at around 5:30 p.m. December 16, on College Avenue near Bowen Avenue.
Modesto police said Cooley was walking across College Avenue when he was hit by a 2005 Honda Civic.
Cooley was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The Modesto woman driving the Honda remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The crash remains under investigation.
