A 20-year-old Atwater woman was ejected from the Honda and was pronounced dead at the scene
Atwater, CA – The woman and a 3-year-old child who died in a crash involving a suspected DUI driver in Atwater late Sunday night have been identified by family as 20-year-old Arianna Valencia and Camilla Valencia.
Arianna and Camilla were passengers in a 2025 Honda Civic that was struck by a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck, operated by 19-year-old Moises Haven Castillo at about 10:35 p.m. on Sunday, June 1 at Southern Pacific Avenue and Commerce Avenue.

Atwater, CA – A woman and a three-year-old child were killed in a car accident on Sunday night in Atwater.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 10:35 p.m. in the area of Southern Pacific Avenue and Commerce Avenue.
19-year-old Moises Haven Castillo was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck eastbound on Southern Pacific Avenue when he reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a 2025 Honda Civic making a left turn from westbound Southern Pacific Avenue onto Commerce Avenue,
A 20-year-old Atwater woman was ejected from the Honda and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A three-year-old passenger of the Honda was transported to the hospital where she died while receiving treatment.
Castillo reportedly fled the scene and was later located and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, felony hit and run, and vehicular manslaughter.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
