Arnulfo Rodriguez Killed in Central Bakersfield Bicycle Crash on California Avenue and R Street
Bakersfield, California (January 5, 2022) – Arnulfo Lopez Rodriguez, 64, has been identified as the bicyclist who was struck and killed by a vehicle in Central Bakersfield on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
The fatal collision happened near California Avenue and S Street at about 12:28 p.m. January 4.
Authorities said a vehicle collided with a bicyclist in the area for unknown reasons.

Rodriguez who was riding the bicycle died at the scene of the accident.
The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
Authorities closed the eastbound side of California Avenue for hours as they conducted an investigation.
Alcohol and drugs were not believed to have played a role in the collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
