At Least 1 Killed in Arvin Semi-Truck Crash on Wheeler Ridge Road near Teale Road
Arvin, California (October 18, 2021) – At least one person was killed in a traffic collision involving a semi-truck early Monday morning in Arvin, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The wreck took place at about 1:44 a.m. on northbound Wheeler Ridge Road, just north of Teale Road.
A 4-door sedan that was reportedly recklessly driving collided head-on with a semi-truck for unknown reasons.
Both vehicles ended up in a ditch after the first impact, and the sedan overturned onto its side.
Firefighters responded to the scene and blocked the northbound lanes.
At least one person died in the accident, and the coroner was called to the scene.
Northbound Wheeler Ridge Road was expected to remain closed for about five hours to allow vehicle recovery.
CHP is investigating to establish the cause of the wreck.
