At Least 1 Seriously Injured in Chula Vista Crash on Interstate near E Street
Chula Vista, California (August 24, 2022) – At least one person was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Wednesday morning in Chula Vista, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The incident happened at about 5:50 a.m. on southbound Interstate 5 near E Street.
CHP said a car was rear-ended by another vehicle and overturned in the No. 2 lane. While the driver of the overturned vehicle was still inside, at least one other vehicle struck the car.
Responding paramedics helped at least one person who sustained serious injuries.
The Nos. 1, 2 and 3 lanes of the freeway remained blocked as authorities investigated.
