CHP officers received a call from a big rig driver reporting that he had pulled over on the right shoulder to fix his light when a car rammed into the back of his trailer.
First responders found a gray Acura ILX wedged underneath the trailer of a semi-truck on the right shoulder.
One person was killed in the crash, as per the report.
Authorities did not immediately establish the factors that contributed to the collision.
CHP is investigating the incident.
