A white Hummer pickup truck and a black Volkswagen collided head-on, blocking both traffic lanes.
Vacaville firefighters and other emergency personnel responded to the scene and found the Volkswagen overturned, with two occupants trapped inside but alert and responsive.
The victims were freed and transported to the hospital. Details about their conditions were not provided, but the report said the crash resulted in major injuries.
The Hummer was towed away with major front-end damage, and the Volkswagen with major rollover damage.
