At Least One Person Dies in Rollover Collision on 5 Freeway in Carlsbad

, Calif. – At least one person died in a traffic collision that happened early Saturday morning on a freeway in Carlsbad, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The rollover collision was reported around 4:39 a.m. on the southbound near Palomar Airport Road.

Three vehicles were involved in the accident. Two of them overturned in traffic lanes.

Fuel from one of the cars was leaking onto the lanes.

CHP, the Carlsbad Police Department, Caltrans, and other emergency personnel responded to the scene.

At least one person was killed in the accident, the report said.

It was unclear if any other person was injured.

All the vehicles were towed away with crash damage.

CHP officers are investigating the cause of the accident.
