At Least One Person Suffers Major Injuries in Multi-Vehicle Collision in Watsonville

, Calif. – At least one person sustained major injuries in a multi-vehicle collision that happened Friday afternoon in Watsonville, the California Highway Patrol said.

Authorities responded to Hall Road between San Miguel Canyon and Johnson roads where three vehicles collided around 12:19 p.m.

The responders found a Volkswagen Beetle, a gray Chevrolet Silverado pickup , and a third vehicle involved in the accident.

The bug was blocking the roadway and had its airbags deployed, with front- and rear-end damage. The pickup truck stopped in a ditch on the opposite side of the roadway.

Paramedics responded and evaluated those involved for injuries. The medics said the crash resulted in major injuries. An occupant of the bug suffered an arm injury but it was unclear if they were the one with serious injuries.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision.
