Santa Fe Springs, Calif. – The County Department of Medical Examiner's office has released the identity of a who was struck and killed by a vehicle on near Santa Fe Springs early Wednesday.

According to the release by the Medical Examiner, the victim was 29-year-old Bryan Stewart.

Stewart was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a vehicle on an on-ramp of the Santa Ana (5) Freeway near Florence Avenue.

Santa Fe Springs, Calif. – Authorities are investigating a auto-pedestrian accident on Interstate 5 in Santa Fe Springs Wednesday morning.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the wreck happened at around 5:18 a.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway and the Florence Avenue off-ramp.

The unidentified pedestrian was crossing the streets when a vehicle struck them in unclear circumstances.

The victim was pronounced dead at the crash site.

The CHP issued a SigAlert and closed the Florence Avenue off-ramp to the Santa Ana Freeway.

More information about the collision was not available.

An investigation is ongoing.
