Woman Critically Hurt in Bakersfield Accident on 21st Street near Union Avenue

Bakersfield, California (November 18, 2021) – Two people, including a critically injured woman, were hospitalized after being involved in a multi-vehicle collision in Bakersfield Tuesday night, November 16.
The major injury fiery crash was reported at around 5:48 p.m. in the area of 21st Street and Union Avenue.
The accident occurred when a Chevrolet Silverado heading northbound on 21st Street failed to slow down as it approached slower traffic ahead in the evening hours. The Silverado then crashed into another car, triggering a chain reaction involving eight other automobiles.
Major Injury Bakersfield Fiery Car Accident
Due to the impact, one of the vehicles caught fire, and a woman was pinned inside the wreckage. She was rescued by a Good Samaritan from the fully engulfed car and sustained major injuries.
The female party was then rushed to an area hospital where she was listed in critical condition.
A second victim reportedly sustained minor injuries and was also hospitalized after the crash.
Authorities affirmed speed appeared to have played a role in the crash.
