1 Hospitalized after Bakersfield Car Crash on E Pacheco Road and Cottonwood Road
Bakersfield, California (March 17, 2022) – One person was hospitalized after a crash involving a semi-truck that happened early Thursday morning in Bakersfield, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Emergency crews were dispatched to E Pacheco Road and Cottonwood Road, where the crash occurred at around 3:41 a.m.
The responders found a black Honda Accord involved in a collision with a semi-truck.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the semi-truck was stopped on eastbound Pacheco attempting to make a turn onto Cottonwood when the Honda slammed into its back. The vehicles were blocking the roadway after the crash.
One person was unable to exit the Honda after the accident. The emergency responders assisted the party.
One person was transported from the crash scene to Kern Medical Center with possible major injuries. The patient was only identified as Patricia.
Bakersfield police closed the eastbound lanes of Pacheco to allow a rescue operation.
The collision is under active investigation.
