Bakersfield, CA: Fatal 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 119 at Buena Vista Road

, California (November 30, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a Monday morning traffic accident that killed a 22-year-old woman and left another person injured in Bakersfield.

The deadly two-vehicle accident occurred at about 7:40 a.m., on November 28, at the intersection of at Buena Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2018 Honda Civic, driven by the woman, was headed south on Buena Vista Road approaching Highway 119 when it failed to stop for a posted stop sign.

Unfortunately, the Honda was reportedly broadsided by a 2016 Scion TC that was traveling east on Highway 119.

As a result of the crash impact, the Honda overturned and came to a rest in an almond orchard southeast of the intersection.

Sadly, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Scion was taken to Kern Medical with minor injuries.

It was not clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the mishap.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
