Woman Killed, 2 Seriously Injured in Bakersfield Collision on Olive Drive Overpass over Highway 99

Bakersfield, California (August 14, 2021) – A head-on collision has claimed the life of a woman and left two other people with serious injuries Saturday night in Bakersfield, the California Highway Patrol said.
At 9:22 p.m., CHP officials responded to the crash on Olive Drive overpass above Highway 99.
According to the CHP, a Ford F-150 pickup truck was traveling on the Olive Drive overpass when, for undetermined reasons, the pickup truck crossed over the center median into the opposite lane, where it collided head-on with a Ford Crown Victoria.
Deadly Bakersfield Head-on Collision on Olive Drive Overpass
A woman who was a passenger in the Ford Crown Victoria was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Both female drivers of the Ford F-150 and Ford Crown Victoria were taken to a nearby hospital with major injuries. Their current condition was not known.
All parties involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
The crash remains under investigation.
