1 Killed, 1 Injured in Stockdale Highway Crash near Highway 43 in Bakersfield
Bakersfield, California (March 18, 2022) – One person was killed and another was hospitalized after a head-on collision early Friday morning in Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The tragic accident was reported just before 2:00 a.m. on Stockdale Highway, just west of Highway 43.
An SUV crossed over the center median and collided head-on a semi-truck, CHP said.
Bakersfield 2-Vehicle Crash Kills Driver, Injures Passenger
The SUV driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the SUV was transported to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.
The driver of the semi had only minor injuries and stopped at the scene to cooperate with the authorities.
Traffic between Highway 43 and Interstate 5 was halted for an unknown period following the crash.
No other details were available.
The crash remains under investigation.
