At Least 1 Injured in Beaumont Car Crash on Interstate 10 near Beaumont Avenue On-Ramp
Beaumont, California (April 28, 2022) – A Thursday morning multi-vehicle crash in Beaumont left at least one person injured and caused heavy traffic on Interstate 10, as per a local news source.
The pileup happened just after 8 a.m. on the freeway's westbound lanes near the Beaumont Avenue off-ramp.
The California Highway Patrol officers said a Rav-4, an Infinity SUV and a big rig hauling a wide load were involved in the collision. The semi overturned onto its side, and at least one car crossed the center divider, affecting traffic on eastbound Interstate 10.
According to a witness, the accident happened when one of the vehicles clipped the SUV.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and assessed those involved in the accident for injuries. The driver of the SUV was found with an injury to his arm. It was not clear if he was hospitalized.
The other parties were not injured.
The collision left at least three traffic lanes blocked, slowing traffic on both sides of the freeway. Authorities diverted westbound I-10 traffic off at North Highland Springs.
An investigation is ongoing.
