Benly Nanthavong Killed in Mojave Collision on Highway 58 near Castle Butte Road
Mojave, California (November 6, 2021) – Benly Nic Nanthavong, 27, has been identified as the man who was killed in a two-vehicle collision early Friday morning near Edwards Air Force Base in Mojave, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened shortly before 2:45 a.m., November 5, on Highway 58 near Castle Butte Road.
The CHP said two vehicles collided on the westbound side of the highway. One person was trapped in the wreckage of one of the vehicles and had to be extricated by firefighters.

Nanthavong, of Stockton, died at the scene, according to the Kern County Coroner's Office.
More details about the accident were not provided.
The crash remains under investigation by the CHP.
