Ceres, CA – A bicyclist was hospitalized with major injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Ceres on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Ceres Police Department.
The accident took place on Mitchell Road north of Hatch Road just after 3 p.m. May 16.
According to the report, a 59-year-old man was riding a bicycle eastbound across Mitchell Road when he went across the center median and was struck by a vehicle heading north on Mitchell Road.
The bicyclist was rushed to a hospital with critical injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Authorities shut down Mitchell Road for hours as they investigated the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
