Bicyclist Dies in Crash with Car at A Street and Redding Way in Perris

, Calif. – A bicyclist was killed after colliding with a vehicle at an intersection in Perris Friday afternoon, according to the Riverside Sheriff's Perris Station.

The deadly crash was reported at about 2:54 p.m. at the intersection of A Street and Way.

Deputies from the Sheriff's Perris Station responded scene regarding a report of a major injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist.

On arrival, the deputies located the bicyclist unresponsive with major injuries on the roadway. Medical personnel also responded to the scene and performed lifesaving measures, but the bicyclist succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim's identity was withheld pending notification to the next of kin.

Authorities say the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Preliminary investigation showed the vehicle was attempting to turn left from Redding Way onto A Street when the bicyclist failed to yield at a stop sign and collided with the front end of the vehicle.

A Street between Red Maple Lane and Aspen Lane was shut down temporarily as crews worked to clear the scene.
