Bicyclist Dies in Hit-and-Run Crash near Portland Road and Northgate Avenue

Portland, Ore. – 61-year-old Juan Barron was killed in a crash near an intersection in Salem about two week ago.

According to the authorities the wreck happened at about 9:30 p.m. on January 11 near Portland Road and Northgate Avenue.

Barron was hit by a vehicle ejecting him on the crosswalk in unclear circumstances. The suspect fled the scene before the officer arrived.

Barron was transported to a hospital with head injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital on January 20.

The suspect has not yet been located.

Additional information about the collision was not provided.
