Boy Hurt in Alameda Bicycle Crash at Fernside Boulevard and Garfield Avenue
Alameda, California (September 17, 2022) – A boy riding a bicycle was struck and injured by a vehicle at an intersection in Alameda on Friday morning, according to the Alameda Police Department.
The collision happened in the area of Fernside Boulevard and Garfield Avenue at around 9:40 a.m. on Friday, September 16.
Police said the boy was riding his bike in the Island's East End when he was hit by a vehicle for unknown reasons.
The boy fell from the bike due to the impact of the crash and suffered significant abrasions to his lower left leg.
The boy was transported to a hospital in Santa Rosa for treatment.
The involved driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
The intersection of Fernside and Garfield was shut down as authorities investigated the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
