Rider Injured in San Diego Crash on Camino Del Sur near State Route 56
San Diego, California (May 19, 2022) – A bicycle rider was struck and seriously injured in a collision that occurred on Wednesday evening in the Torrey Highlands neighborhood, according to San Diego police.
The incident took place in the 13000 block of Camino Del Sur near State Route 56.
A 57-year-old woman was reportedly riding a bike east across Camino Del Sur in the crosswalk when she was struck by a Volvo XC90 SUV that was making an exit at SR 56 onto Camino Del Sur.

The rider sustained serious injuries, including a fractured pelvis and L5 back fracture.
The driver who hit the bicyclist was an 80-year-old.
