Bicyclist Hit, Seriously Injured by Car in Tahoe Vista

Tahoe , California (August 7, 2022) – A bicyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a car Sunday morning in Tahoe Vista, Placer County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident was reported at about 9:17 a.m. on Highway 267 near Carnelian Bay Avenue.

As per the report, a car was pulling into a parking area when it hit the cyclist.

Placer County sheriff's deputies and firefighters responded to the scene.

The rider was taken to the hospital with major injuries.

Traffic was backed up on the highway following the collision.

As the summer travel season comes to an end, drivers, motorcyclists, bicyclists and even pedestrians are reminded to use the road responsibly.
