Bicyclist Critically Injured in Citrus Heights Accident on Sunrise Boulevard near Antelope Road
Citrus Heights, California (July 23, 2022) – A bicycle rider sustained major injuries in a collision with a vehicle in Citrus Heights on Friday evening, according to Citrus Heights Police Department.
The incident was reported at around 5 p.m. on Sunrise Boulevard, north of Antelope Road.
According to the report, an adult male was riding a bicycle in the area when he collided with a vehicle and was ejected onto the road.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and aided the bicyclist.
The rider was transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.
The driver of the vehicle reportedly stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
It's unclear whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
