Merced County, CA.– A bicycle rider was killed in a collision with a vehicle in Merced County on Tuesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place on Belcher Avenue near Highway 59 at about 9:30 p.m. June 3.
According to the report, a Toyota pickup driven by a 23-year-old was traveling on Belcher Avenue when it was involved in a collision with a bicyclist under unclear circumstances.
The bicyclist, a 27-year-old, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The accident remained under investigation.
