1 Seriously Injured in El Cerrito Bicycle Crash on University Avenue near College Avenue
San Diego, California (December 14, 2021) – A bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a car in El Cerrito on Monday evening.
The bicycle accident happened on University Avenue near College Avenue at about 5:05 p.m., December 13, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The authorities say the bicyclist was riding west in a bike lane when he was struck by a 21-year-old driver who had merged left to pass a slower vehicle.

The bicyclist had also rode into the traffic lanes around the front of the slow-moving vehicle when the collision occurred.
The bicyclist was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the car was unhurt.
No additional information was provided.
