Billy Xiong ID'd as Chico Man Killed in Sutter County Accident on State Route 99 near Nicholas Avenue
Sutter County, California (January 18, 2022) – The Chico man who died in an early Sunday morning collision in Sutter County has been identified as 24-year-old Billy Xiong, according to the Sutter County Sheriff's Office.
The wreck occurred on State Route 99, just south of Nicholas Avenue just before 2 a.m. January 16.
According to CHP, a 50-year-old San Jacinto man was driving south in the northbound side of SR 99 when he collided head-on with a northbound vehicle driven by Billy Xiong.

Xiong died in the collision.
The San Jacinto driver was hospitalized with major injuries.
The crash led to a shut-down of both directions of SR 99 for nearly four hours.
The CHP is handling the investigation.
