Rider Seriously Injured in Brentwood Crash on Marsh Creek Road near Round Valley Regional Preserve

Brentwood, California (April 20, 2022) – A motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries after colliding with a Subaru near the Round Valley Regional Preserve entrance in Brentwood, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident happened at around 11:40 a.m. Wednesday on Marsh Creek Road.
The crash involved a sports bike and a Subaru Outback.
According to CHP, it appears the rider and the driver were both headed westbound on Marsh Creek when one of them attempted to turn into Round Valley Regional Preserve, and the motorcycle crashed into the rear of the Outback.
The man riding the motorcycle suffered serious injuries and was going in and out of consciousness. He was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek for treatment.
Firefighters with the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District said the occupants of the Outback were evaluated by paramedics at the scene and released with minor to no injuries.
Authorities closed Marsh Creek in both directions for about half an hour following the accident.
According to a pickup truck driver and an eyewitness, the rider was allegedly trying to pass the pickup truck before crashing into the rear of the Outback. However, CHP is investigating the cause of the collision.
