Bruce Kirk Suffers Serious Injuries in Nevada County/Yuba County DUI 2-Vehicle Collision on Highway 20 near Wild Turkey Lane
Nevada County/Yuba County, California (August 28, 2021) – 75-year-old Bruce Kirk has been identified as the Smartsville man who sustained serious injuries following a traffic collision near the Nevada County and the Yuba County line early Wednesday evening, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on Highway 20 near Wild Turkey Lane shortly after 6:00 p.m. on August 25.
The accident involved a vehicle driven by 37-year-old Autumn Nichols eastbound near Wild Turkey Lane and a second car operated by Bruce Kirk westbound on Highway 20.
Nichols reportedly crossed the double yellow lines into the path of Bruce's vehicle prior to the collision.
Nevada County/Yuba County Injures Bruce Kirk
Kirk sustained moderate injuries in the crash and was rushed to an area hospital for medication.
As per the report, Nichols and her passenger, a child, sustained major injuries and were also hospitalized.
Nichols was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
