Driver Seriously Injured in Interstate 80 Accident in Solano County

Solano County, California (October 11, 2021) – A Caltrans worker was seriously hurt in a collision involving a big rig in Solano County on Monday morning, according to California Highway Patrol.
The incident took place shortly before 9 a.m. on the westbound I-80 at Meridian Road.
According to CHP, the driver of a big rig reportedly pulled onto the right-hand shoulder of the highway and collided with a tractor.
The big rig caught fire following the crash and it was extinguished by fire crews.

The driver of the tractor was hospitalized with major injuries that were not expected to be life-threatening.
The other motorist was not injured.
