Camarillo, CA: At Least 1 Seriously Hurt in Highway 101 Rollover Crash

, California (February 20, 2022) – At least one person sustained major injuries in a rollover collision that happened Saturday evening in Camarillo, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The incident happened at around 5:53 p.m. on southbound Highway 101, just north of Camarillo Springs Road.

Two vehicles of unknown description were involved in the accident. One of them went about 50 feet off the roadway through a barbed-wire fence and into a ditch. That vehicle also overturned in the crash. One of the cars also possibly caught fire. A wooden signpost was downed, and about 40 feet of the barbed wire fence was destroyed.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and offered aid to at least one person who sustained major injuries.

The car that ended up in the ditch was retrieved and towed away with major rollover damage.

CHP is investigating the accident.
